ⓘ Need-to-know

Machu Picchu tickets:

The entrances to the Machu Picchu citadel are currently very few and they sell very quickly, so when making reservations, it can only be confirmed once the entrance to the citadel has been purchased, for this we need the prepayment of USD 100 per passenger in addition to the passenger's name, date of birth, passenger number to be able to purchase the proceeds.

Entrance fees to Machu Picchu are not endorsable, refundable and do not allow name changes. If the passenger authorises purchasing it and then does not travel, he or she simply loses it.

Make sure to confirm your reservation and provide the necessary information for Machu Picchu tickets as soon as possible, as they are limited in availability and non-refundable.

Pack your essentials:

Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat or cap, and insect repellent. Peru has diverse climates depending on the destinations you’ve chosen.

Be sure to include: comfortable clothing, walking shoes or trekking boots, and a waterproof jacket.

A plug adapter is a must, as the official voltage is 220v.

Optimise your luggage:

During train journeys to Machu Picchu, only hand luggage up to 5 kg is allowed. Plan your packing while considering the weight and size limitations for internal transfers.

Maximum weight:
Peru Rail: 5 kg - 11 pounds
Inca Rail: 8 kg - 17 pounds
Bag Measurement: a + b + c = 62 linear inches or 157 centimeters

Check your documents:

All passports must be valid for at least 6 months. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure this validity to enter the country.
